Tuition Overview 2024-25
Tuition is based on your residency, the number of credits you take, employment as
a teaching or resident assistant and/or participation in the Western Regional Graduate Program. These tuition rates and COA estimates are for graduate programs at UM, including
Pharmacy and Physical Therapy.
Montana residents pay:
$10,032 a year when you take 12 or more credits per semester
$7,990 a year when you take between 9 and 11 credits per semester
$5,620 a year when you take six to eight credits per semester
Out-of-state students pay:
$37,588 a year when you take 12 or more credits per semester
$28,676 a year when you take between 9 and 11 credits per semester
$19,436 a year when you take six to eight credits per semester
Cost of Attendance Summary
These summaries are estimated comprehensive costs for the 2023-24 academic year, which
includes tuition, off-campus housing, meals and books/supplies as direct costs and
indirect costs including loan fee allowances, transportation and miscellaneous expenses.
$39,938: COA estimate for Montana residents enrolled full-time (12 or more credits)
$68,282: COA estimate for out-of-state residents enrolled full-time (12 or more credits)
Housing Options and Cost Summary
There are two apartment-style facilities available to graduate students and students
with a spouse and/or dependents.
