Tuition Overview 2023-24

Tuition is based on your residency, the number of credits you take, employment as a teaching or resident assistant and/or participation in the Western Regional Graduate Program. These tuition rates and COA estimates are for graduate programs at UM, including Pharmacy and Physical Therapy.

Montana residents pay:
$9,580 a year when you take 12 or more credits per semester
$7,634 a year when you take between 9 and 11 credits per semester
$5,334 a year when you take six to eight credits per semester

Out-of-state students pay:
$35,314 a year when you take 12 or more credits per semester
$26,946 a year when you take between 9 and 11 credits per semester
$18,224 a year when you take six to eight credits per semester

These summaries are estimated comprehensive costs for the 2023-24 academic year, which includes tuition, off-campus housing, meals and books/supplies as direct costs and indirect costs including loan fee allowances, transportation and miscellaneous expenses. 

$36,224: COA estimate for Montana residents enrolled full-time (12 or more credits)

$62,746: COA estimate for out-of-state residents enrolled full-time (12 or more credits)
